Welcome to the annual St. John’s Chicken Dinner, Auction and Carnival fundraiser! If you would like to participate in the auction, you will need to register (at the event). Committee members need first name, last name and phone number of the person bidding. You will receive a bidder number when you register. Please use this number when bidding in the silent auction, live auction and when checking out. We ask that bids be placed by those who are 18 years of age or older.
Wine Grab and cash and carry items are available to purchase at any time during the night. Items are available on a first come, first serve basis. You do not need to register to purchase a cork or cash and carry item. You must be 21 years old to purchase a cork for the Wine Grab. The auction committee reserves the right to ask for verification of age. Wine purchased may NOT be opened inside the school or on school grounds.
Items in the auction are on color coded tables that coordinate with their end time. At the end of each closing time, members of the auction committee will circle the winning bid. There will be a “casual” closing of each section (we are trying to raise money after all). Any disputes will go immediately into a live auction between the last two bidders. Once the section has closed, there will be no more bidding.
Each starting bid price is set at 30% the value of the item. Each subsequent bid must be increased by at least $1.00. Please remember this is a fundraising event for St. John’s Lutheran School. Therefore we ask that you be willing to bid what you feel these items are worth outside of the event. If you have won an item, take the white bid sheet as your receipt. Please bring the white bid sheet(s) and your bid number when you are ready to pay. You may wait until the end of the night to pay for your item(s), but we ask that you pay for your item(s) before taking them out of the building.
Gift certificates, vouchers, tickets, etc…will be kept at the check out table. If you have won an item that is a ticket or voucher, please bring the sign used for bidding to the check out table when you are ready to pay. A committee member will give you the actual ticket or voucher at check out.
The last section of the night will be a live auction. Bidding will start at 30% the value of the item and bids must be increased by at least $1.00.
All items must be paid for at the end of the night. We accept cash, check and credit card. Please note which line to get into based on your method of payment when checking out. If you have placed a winning bid on an item and have left the school, you will be contacted the next day and notified. Your item will be held at the school until payment has been received.
If you would like to re-donate the container your items came in, please notify a committee member at check out. We can repack your items into bags or boxes.
Thank you for supporting St. John’s Lutheran School! If you have any questions throughout the evening, please feel free to contact a committee member. Have a great evening and happy bidding!
